印度安得拉邦阿瑪拉瓦提遺址出土
印度安得拉邦（Andhra Pradesh）阿瑪拉瓦提遺址（Amaravati）出土。原為大塔的浮雕裝飾，現僅存下部。浮雕中間以刻著法輪的佛足印，象徵佛陀坐在寶座上，佛陀腳下有四名身著華麗裝束的年輕婦女虔誠跪拜。婦女體態豐滿，面部端嚴娟秀，身姿自然活潑，或雙手合十，或五體投地，形成了優美和諧的韻律，為阿瑪拉瓦提刻劃女性的雕刻名作。由於阿瑪拉瓦提受到北方秣菟羅（Mathura）的影響，大約一八○至二○○年之後佛像的造型就此出現。
