枕以滑石製成，作長方體，枕面略呈弧形。正面周邊以花紋為框，內浮雕一對坐獅，頸背長鬃，張口翹尾，昂然抬首，體大雄壯，展現威武之姿。背面鐫刻雙龍相向，龍鬚內卷，尾部朝上。石枕左右兩側各刻有獸首人身像，其外框則施三角形紋飾。
此作雕工精細，為隋（581～618）唐（618～907）傳世的千年寶物，以枕作為佛教供具，實屬少見。
