該像形體敦實粗壯，頭部略顯大，身軀比例偏短。肉髻較高大，根部繫帶，額前白毫以圓形小凸點呈現，唇上蓄髭，神情沉穩堅毅。通肩大衣厚重，右手從領口伸出，右臂裹在衣內，懸於胸前；左臂肘以下雖已斷損，但可判斷原握衣角。內著僧祇支，大衣的褶紋呈現出身體輪廓的起伏，極具真實感，顯示出匠師的高超技藝。
犍陀羅佛像大衣的衣紋雕刻以及站立的姿勢，令人聯想到類似希臘、羅馬雕像的寬鬆長袍，如索福克勒斯（Sophocles）的雕像，可見犍陀羅美術所受到的深刻影響。
