菩薩束圓卷狀高髻，前額頭髮中分，後梳披肩，雙眼細長，唇上蓄髭鬚，為胡人相貌。著袒右袈裟，衣褶厚重細密流暢，頸飾項圈。右手施無畏印，左手提淨瓶，右足向前，左足在後，作行走狀，雙踝以下斷缺。下裙寬大厚重，裙襬外展，具風動感。頭後有一孔，可能係鑲嵌背光之用。整體樣式受犍陀羅影響。
同類菩薩鎏金銅像於日本京都藤井有鄰館亦收藏一件，皆為四世紀佛教傳入中國較早的作品。
