Wutaishan Xiantong Temple: Statuette of Master Daoji

陶塑道濟禪師像

道濟禪師為宋代(960~1279)臨濟宗楊岐派僧,年十八時落髮於浙江杭州靈隱寺,性狂顛,嗜酒肉,號濟顛,師行化軼事頗多。瀕湖居民食螺斷尾,師每乞放水中,螺多活而無尾。
 禪師戴破僧帽,側目斜視,張嘴露齒而笑。袒胸,肋骨分明,胸前掛佛珠一串。身著補丁衲衣,釉上施藍彩,色澤明亮,衣紋流暢。右手持破蒲扇,左手拎僧鞋,跣足。
 此作生動寫實地掌握了禪師廣為流傳、不拘世俗小節的典型樣貌,油彩敷色的技巧更是爐火純青。
