甘肅省酒泉市敦煌市莫高窟第17窟出土
甘肅省酒泉市敦煌市莫高窟第17窟出土。九世紀末至十世紀初作品。經冊中的插圖依《妙法蓮華經》卷七〈觀世音菩薩普門品〉而畫，圖文相輔。描述觀音菩薩為救度眾生而變現不同應身說法，如天龍、夜叉、乾闥婆、阿修羅、執金剛神……，或遇危難時，一心稱念觀音菩薩聖號便得解脫。
每張冊頁上部為圖畫，下方書寫經文。繪畫構圖簡潔，多以墨線勾勒，應是以木筆或蘆葦筆作畫，少部分施以赭紅色或黃色，以墨書「觀音經一卷」作為結尾。《觀音經》即當時敦煌所稱的〈普門品〉。
