此圖為佛傳浮雕涅槃圖殘存的局部，描繪佛陀入滅時景象，目前僅存牀座下的舉哀弟子，屬常見犍陀羅的佛傳涅槃圖之一。
畫面以牀座上垂下的敷巾為背景。畫面最左端的執金剛神悲傷倒地，左臂高舉過頭，右手支地，所持的金剛杵遺落在旁，表現哀傷逾恆的樣貌，旁有另一人扶持著。另一位弟子蹲地撫胸仰望，強調對佛入涅槃深切的不捨與哀慟。一似婆羅門的人物低首掩面哭泣，而佛陀最後的弟子須跋陀羅則安詳地結跏趺坐在一旁入定，最右端有三根木棒懸掛漉水囊，表現其行者的身分。作品中人物表情、衣著樣式等均刻劃寫實。
