印度比哈爾邦蘇丹甘吉出土
印度比哈爾邦蘇丹甘吉（Sultanganj, Bihar）出土。佛螺髮高肉髻，五官輪廓鮮明，流露專注冥想的神態。通肩袈裟緊貼全身，巧妙利用片岩打磨光滑如鏡的特點，把袈裟超薄質感表現極致，並突顯佛像圓潤的身軀。右手施與願印，掌心現千輻輪相，指間呈縵網相，左手屈舉持握衣角。重心落於左腳，身軀略微左傾，形成視覺動線美感。
佛左下角為彌勒菩薩，屈膝跪地，虔誠禮拜。佛背光呈橢圓形，邊緣飾火焰紋。從該像袈裟的處理、背光的形狀為橢圓形而不同於一般的圓形等表現手法，可知此時期古典藝術式微，藝術家追求標新立異而形成矯飾主義的趨勢。
