浮雕係表現悉達多太子降生人間題材，上緣以莨苕葉紋作裝飾帶，人物右端有希臘科林斯式（Corinthian）柱。此長方形畫面，悉達多太子出現兩次。圖中央，摩耶夫人右手高舉攀無憂樹枝，其妹摩訶波闍波提在左邊攙扶著，悉達多太子自右腋誕生（已破損），由帝釋天在旁接捧。帝釋身後為梵天及天人吹哨、舞帶讚歎。夫人左側還有持扇、提瓶侍奉的宮女。
夫人與帝釋天下方，站立的嬰兒即為悉達多太子。太子降生後即能自行七步，一手指天，一手指地，說道：「天上天下，唯我獨尊。」
雕刻家由此完成了一圖多景的畫面，是為古犍陀羅地區太子降生最常見的構圖。
