甘肅省酒泉市敦煌市莫高窟第17窟出土。此圖由四層較厚的紙張貼合而成，上端呈尖頭狀。引路菩薩占據整個畫面，足踏雙蓮，腰身微扭，右手執龍首幡竿，左手伸向女姓亡者，並側身回視，作引導狀。該亡者只可見部分衣著及長柄香爐，其餘皆已損毀。圖右側一方榜題未見字跡。人物在團雲的載送下前進，帔帛、寶繒舒卷翻飛，長幡隨風飄動。
圖以墨線勾畫，施以絳彩，從作畫技巧來看，為十世紀中葉至下半葉之作，因其特殊的紙形樣式而受到矚目。
