Kongobuji Temple: Master Kukai

弘法大師像

日本

傳說該像由日本奈良千手院僧人精進行持一萬日後所刻製,故此像又稱萬日大師,其風格寫實,乃參考傳統的弘法大師畫像而雕造,製作於十六至十七世紀,現為日本重要文化財。
 該像頭部微向左側,帶有回顧之姿,臉頰圓潤,目光清澈,凝視下方,嘴角內收,表情堅毅。體格壯碩,內著僧祇支,外披袈裟,左肩繫結,右手舉至胸前握五股杵,左手置於膝上持念珠,結跏趺坐。
 造型簡潔,刻劃自然,將修行者之內涵表現得淋漓盡致。
