傳新疆維吾爾自治區和田地區出土

傳新疆維吾爾自治區和田地區出土,推判原應安置於佛塔或寺院壁面。佛螺髮上部中央與肉髻正面作漩渦紋,其周邊配列波狀紋樣,此表現被認為是受犍陀羅風格影響。眉目細長,寬額端鼻,嘴角微抿,面帶笑容,眼微啟近乎瞇成一線,有異於西域早期的造像風格。
 從佛像之外表觀察,從最初製作到潤飾完成,似以不同材質塑形,其間經過三、四道工序,顯示其造像過程之繁複。由佛頭之比例大小,推測原為與真人等身之塑像。
