觀音圓臉，面帶微笑，神情慈祥。頭戴五葉寶冠，冠葉裝飾寶石。前胸佩飾項鍊、瓔珞，鑲嵌珍珠、寶石，雍容華貴，光彩奪目。基本上還保持著明永樂（1403～1424）、宣德（1426～1435）造像的形式，起伏自然的衣紋。
蓮座上下邊緣及束腰處飾三道聯珠紋，蓮瓣圓鼓，華麗的卷雲邊，座前垂搭帛帶，此是漢地藏傳佛教造像的特點。細節變化豐富，屬於清代（1644～1911）早期宮廷造像的珍品。
蓮座下緣用漢、滿、蒙、藏四體文字刻銘文，漢文內容為「大清昭聖慈壽恭簡安懿章慶敦惠溫莊康和仁宣弘靖太皇太后虔奉三寶福庇萬靈自於康熙二十五年（1686）歲次丙寅奉聖諭不日告成永念聖祖母仁慈垂佑眾生更賴菩薩感應聖壽無疆云爾」。可知此像是康熙帝為其祖母孝莊太皇太后所造。
