阿富汗帕爾旺省豐都基斯坦佛寺遺址出土
阿富汗帕爾旺省豐都基斯坦（Fondukistan, Parwan）佛寺遺址出土。該寺為七世紀興都庫什（Hindu Kush）山脈中巴米揚河谷的佛教聖地之一。一九三七年，法國考古隊於此發現一座塔院，中央為佛塔，庭院四面開三座類似巴米揚的拱形佛龕，內部供奉單體或群組泥塑造像，此像即為塔院D龕造像之一。
菩薩頭戴花冠，卷曲長髮及肩，有髭鬚。頭部略微右側，慈眉微笑。身軀修長，呈三屈式，上身赤袒，下著裙裳，肩披帛帶，胸前掛綴珠鍊、瓔珞。雙手置於胸前，手指纖細優雅，交腳坐。
此造像以未經燒窯的黏土塑模，加入麥稈及馬毛，最後施彩賦色。菩薩頭上的花冠等飾物為嵌合而成。屬阿富汗哈達地區（Hadda）犍陀羅佛教藝術的典型風格。
