四臂觀音菩薩像
印尼蘇門答臘出土
印尼蘇門答臘（Sumatra）出土，中爪哇時期（約7～13世紀）作品。鎏金表面已剝落，原為四臂，左右各失一臂，右臂持念珠，已失的左臂殘存一株蓮莖及蓮花，另一左手持法螺。頂上一坐佛，故知此像為觀音菩薩。
菩薩梳高髻，髮辮左右各作兩綹披肩。頭形圓，五官集中，表情嚴肅。上身斜披帔帛，下身著裙，衣薄貼體，平滑無褶。腰部繫帶，帶中央一圓飾，裙襬在身側摺如魚尾，裝飾簡潔利落。肩寬胸厚，腿部及雙足亦圓鼓結實，站姿直挺，全像結實豐潤。
印尼蘇門答臘地區八至九世紀時佛教興盛，與印度往來密切，此像可見承襲印度笈多王朝（約320～550）的風格，然其額寬嘴闊，則是印尼中爪哇民族的特徵。
