四川省成都市萬佛寺遺址出土。此像正面直立，方頭闊臉，髯毛連鬢，身著鎧甲，肩繫衣巾，革帶束腰。雙手手腕以下均已損毀。天王是佛教的護法神，形象通常威武凜然，鎧胄裝束，腳鎮踏著鬼魅。然隨著唐代（618～907）佛教的世俗化，該像揉合了黃河流域渾厚質樸的風格與當地傳統，反而呈現出沉穩莊重的氣質，不同於其他天王威猛慍怒的氣勢。其雕刻手法成熟流暢，線條簡潔精細，戰袍褶襞對稱，利落自然。
