此印文六字分三行布置，每行兩字，平均分布。此印師法吳熙載的細朱文，線條細勁有力，運刀起迄，提按分明，一絲不茍，用刀如筆，兩者能完整結合，使篆文更彰顯精神。全印風格秀潤典雅，舒展自如，平靜清澹。
張慕漁原名敬，字慕漁、荷帆。山東煙台人。幼從兄習顏書《多寶塔碑》，後學《史晨碑》。既長得孫蒙起與劉紹蘭授之篆刻，藝乃大進。家藏圖書甚富，見漢印端重樸茂，愛而習之，老而彌篤。又工篆刻，旁及刻竹，偶治古印鈕，如覆斗鈕、連珠印、瓦鈕等，無不精緻古雅。中年皈依佛門，並受五戒。
