With a Non-Discriminating Mind, Chan is Everywhere

無心到處禪 黃呂

「無心到處禪」,指無分別思量時,則處處都有禪心、有道。
 此為五字白文方章,採取右邊二字、左邊三字的布局方式,以二十一世紀初美學的熱門術語而言,即「不對稱的對稱」,指在不對稱之下而產生的美感。其實漢字本身即是不對稱的對稱。
 以此方印為例,如果是以楷書而論,這五個字皆不對稱;若以篆書而言,除了「無」的篆體之外,其餘四字的篆體結構無一對稱。
 作者將大小不等的字體,分成大小不同的空間,納入一個方形空間,變成一個整體空間,且刻意不留邊,使全印緊實。在篆字結構方面,以繆篆屈曲字形排列,「心」字用了盤曲技巧。刀工有澀刀質感,風格樸實、厚重,是一枚渾厚豐滿的印章。
 黃呂字次黃,號鳳六山人。生卒年不詳,約活動於清乾隆年間(1736~1795)。安徽歙縣人。黃白山之子,十五歲後隨父學篆刻,以秦漢印風為宗,作品遒勁蒼秀,有秦漢遺風。工詩文、繪畫,善書法,隸學漢人,行草學晉人,晚年益樸茂,求書者無虛日。
