金正喜約書於十九世紀。金氏為酬答好友草衣意恂禪師寄來自製之茗茶，書此長軸「茗禪」二字，有透過飲茶入於禪境之意，恰與草衣禪師贈茶之事相輝映。
金正喜主張，志於書學者宜對隸書有所理解。此軸橫平豎直，用筆樸厚而無精麗之波折雁尾，正是參酌漢代（206 BCE～220）隸書名碑《白石神君碑》筆意寫就。其字跡強而有力，端正勻整，具八分之趣。雖結字未臻盡善，仍是頗具氣勢與趣味的佳作。
金正喜字元春，號秋史、阮堂、禮堂。朝鮮時期（1392～1910）書法家、畫家、金石家、詩人。韓國忠清南道禮山郡人。於漢詩、金石學、考古學、書法等方面造詣頗深，字跡蒼勁，充滿活力，人稱「秋史體」。
