Akishinodera Temple: Brahma

該像造於八世紀,原名稱不詳。日本昭和十一年(1936)解體整修時,據頭部接榫之墨書記載,得知身軀於鎌倉正應二年(1289)奉藤原光泰之命修補。頭部為奈良時代(710~794)末期以夾紵脫胎技法製作的乾漆造像,補作之身軀以多材檜木雕造而成,妝彩的身軀與頭部甚為調和,推測係當時南都(今奈良)雕刻師所製,現為日本重要文化財。
 頭部除寶髻的群青與木製的天冠為後來修補,餘仍保持當初原作。面相圓滿,眉頭蹙緊,鼻挺,嘴唇緊閉,表情威嚴剛毅。頭髮厚塗木屑漆,予人柔軟之感,呈現乾漆造之特質。腰部稍向左扭,重心置於左足,左手上舉,右手擺置腹側,二手皆拇指、中指和無名指相捻,餘指揚起。身著鎧甲,外披帔帛,下著長裙,帛帶於左肩打結,腰繫束帶,可看出其簡潔明快的作風。
