佛舍利賜隱元禪師贊 後水尾天皇

此卷之書寫，蓋緣於日本後水尾天皇於江戶寬文六年（1666）賜佛舍利五枚與隱元禪師，隱元則迎置於京都松隱堂中。其後，天皇賞賜錢財贊助舍利殿之建立，遂又書此贊語相賜。
此卷用筆腴秀，書風似有意取法禪家疏宕簡直的書寫風貌，故發筆出鋒甚為直截，字距密而行間疏，使章法無相互干擾之弊，故其勢壯而不亂，是此卷佳處。
後水尾天皇（1611～1629在位）幼稱三宮，名政仁，法號圓淨，筆名玉露。日本第一百零八代天皇。信奉佛教，於一糸文守禪僧座下出家。好藝文活動，著有許多詩歌、連歌作品。
