Takidanji Temple: Gong

金銅寶相花紋磬

日本

日本十二世紀作品。磬原為中國樂器,後納為佛教法器,於集眾、聚會、法會儀式中使用。一九五三年指定為日本國寶。 
 銅質鎏金,中部彎曲,左右兩側垂下,狀若扁平山形。上緣呈尖拱形,下緣相連成五弧曲線,周緣框飾雙線。肩部寬23.8公分,下部寬27公分,重達1.1公斤。中央撞座為蓮花形,直徑8.2公分,環飾大型八葉複瓣蓮花紋。磬面以魚子紋為地,線刻牡丹和蓮花組合的寶相花卷草紋。肩部鑄出環耳,供懸掛用。
 平安時代(794~1185)貴族文化崇尚優雅細膩的藝術風格,佛教工藝亦受其影響。此作品從技巧到造型圖案,皆堪稱為平安時代後期傑作,與禪林寺的金銅蓮花紋磬並稱為日本銅磬中之絕品。
