此浮雕表現佛傳中悉達多太子宮中享樂生活和出四門郊遊，分別看到老人、病人、死人及沙門的故事，是犍陀羅美術中的重要題材。
該浮雕以橫卷式作連環畫構圖，各故事情節以希臘科林斯式（Corinthian）列柱相間隔。岩板已裂成數段，從人物造型和雕刻技法，可確定此殘存的兩段屬同一系列，但畫面不相連貫。右側岩板，太子坐於寢台上與王妃交談，並有樂女、宮女隨侍在兩旁，表現的是太子的宮中生活。立柱左側可見太子乘馬出遊，有侍者跟隨。左側岩板中柱子右側，可見太子坐騎殘存的馬頭，前面有坐在地上腹大如鼓的病人，病人身後有親屬扶持。柱子左側再次出現騎馬的太子，其前方斷毀。太子四門出遊的情節殘存的三個場面均不完整。
