金農七十六歲時所書。凡七行。此為金農自言繪寫佛像的意見，認為繪製佛像，當以能有感於人者為是，所謂「盲者辨色，聾者善聽，乃一徵信也」。
金農為清代（1644～1911）書畫家、詩人。擅長隸書和楷書，其書法介於隸楷之間，風格脫俗，從三國東吳（222～280）的《天發神讖碑》、《禪國山碑》中得筆意，截筆端而作擘窠大字，似漆刷所書，故人稱為「漆書」。此幅切筆橫刷而作隸勢，橫畫粗而長，豎筆細而短，字形大小不一，頗有奇拙高古之氣，又多作尖出之斜筆，正是取法於《天發神讖碑》的標記。金農此書風格雖從此出，但能加以歸整為一己書寫創作之用，展現於隸書中，便是其書法成功處。
