印度安得拉邦阿瑪拉瓦提遺址出土
印度安得拉邦（Andhra Pradesh）阿瑪拉瓦提遺址（Amaravati）出土。原為大塔圍欄上的浮雕裝飾，浮雕中間有斷裂修復的痕跡。作品表現釋迦牟尼佛成道後，回到家鄉迦毗羅衛國，對兒子羅●（O）羅及釋迦族的人們說法，最終使其皈依佛教的故事。
圓形畫面中央為寶座，上置坐墊。座上雕飾三寶標和法輪，兩側為火焰柱，座下腳踏刻有佛足印，象徵佛陀。四周聚集釋迦族的男女與比丘，人物鋪排前後有序，構成獨特的三度空間縱深感。
作品雖仍然恪守不以人形來表現佛陀的傳統，但從畫面的構圖、人物的造型等方面判斷，製作時間應該在薩塔瓦哈納王朝（Satavahana，約200 BCE～250）盛期。此時是阿瑪拉瓦提藝術的成熟時期，人物造型為南印度式，氣質溫文柔雅，形體與衣服的線條比北方秣菟羅（Mathura）更見柔和。
