印度比哈爾邦那爛陀寺遺址出土
印度比哈爾邦（Bihar）那爛陀寺遺址（Nalanda）出土。為波羅王朝（Pala，約8～12世紀）早期作品，體態及袈裟的表現尚保留笈多王朝（約320～550）鹿野苑造像的典型特徵。佛螺髮高肉髻，髮際呈「弓」形。臉形長圓，面相俊秀，嘴角帶笑。下頦微凸，大耳垂肩。肩廣臀豐，腰肢特別纖細，身肌結實勁健。著通肩袈裟，衣褶呈規整的半圓弧紋，簡潔流暢。右手自然垂下，左手屈舉提握袈裟衣角。重心落於右腳，左腳前踏半步，立姿柔美優雅。
佛左下方人物身著袈裟，雙手合掌，似為弟子或供養人像。舉身光劃分作三圈，內圈刻有梵文緣起偈（又稱法身偈），中圈飾扭轉的花環，外圈則為火焰紋，頂端刻劃三片巨大的菩提葉代表茂盛的菩提枝葉，匠心獨具。
