巴基斯坦西北邊境省夏瑪爾嘎利佛寺遺址出土
巴基斯坦開伯爾巴圖克瓦省夏瑪爾嘎利（Jamal Garhi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa）佛寺遺址出土。一八四八年，印度考古學家發現該遺址後，英軍發掘出許多造像。該寺院以圓形基壇的主塔為中心，遺址範圍內還分布著十餘個佛龕、小型僧房、奉獻塔群和會堂等。
該像刻劃釋迦太子為追求真理，日食一麻一麥，苦行六年的樣貌。太子結跏趺坐，手結禪定印，雙眼凹陷，臉頰乾癟，但神情堅毅。此像有圓形素面頭光，身光略呈梯形，稍顯不自然，或者並非造像原型。
