此佛頭像為泰國他叻瓦滴時期（Dvaravati，約6～13世紀）的作品。佛肉髻高聳，螺髮排列密集，單純樸素。眼睛半閉，但眼珠刻劃清晰，顯得雙目有神。相連成弓形的眉毛線條流暢，鼻梁挺直。嘴角含笑，唇形優美，瞳孔和嘴唇的輪廓皆以線條加強，突顯出佛像五官莊嚴。
他叻瓦滴時期的佛陀面相特徵一般為螺髮高髻、眉毛相連、鼻翼較寬、嘴大唇厚。雖然該時代的佛像造型已蔚然成風，但從此件作品可以看出，不同的匠師仍然能在遵循既定的造像規範之內，創造出視覺上的細微變化。
