舊高句麗半拉城第二寺遺址發現
第二次世界大戰期間（1939～1945），前日本東京大學調查團於吉林省延吉市半拉城第二寺遺址挖掘出土。原認為雕造於六世紀，但後有一說是在渤海時期（711～926）製作。
二佛並坐造像源自《妙法蓮華經》卷四〈見寶塔品〉。此釋迦與多寶二佛皆兩手置膝上，內側兩手相疊。內著僧祇支，衣領呈「V」形，外披袈裟，垂至座前形成懸裳座。頭光以蓮花紋表現，兩個背光合併成一個，僅上端分開，形成火焰狀，上置五身蓮花化生童子，模樣可愛。二佛之左側為雙手交叉於胸前的菩薩立像，右側是比丘形立像，為罕見的二脇侍組合。
