邊款釋文「福厂用佛經語作印，戒虛偽也。」可知作者以此警戒自己當常保真心。
此印用浙派切刀澀進法為之，得力漢鑄印之韻，方圓規矩，一畫不茍，筆筆精到，觀全印雖以漢印平正格局布置，整體風格以方筆呈現。「真」、「實」二字筆畫較繁，為考慮全印平穩分布，刻意將二字底部之「八」字結構以極簡處理，減至僅突出一點示意而已；「不」字以繁筆充實，「虛」字略微簡筆，顯出方嚴規矩、渾穆樸厚的特點。
王禔原名壽祺，後更名禔，字維季，號福庵、福厂。浙江杭州人，久居上海。精數學，工篆、隸書。篆刻融浙派、皖派之長，刀法凝練，淳樸茂密，不逾規矩，為「西泠印社」創始人之一。
