觀音面如滿月，眉細目長，神態安詳。綰高髮髻，頂戴立姿化佛寶冠，寶繒呈波浪狀垂至股側。袒上身，佩項圈、腕釧，斜披長瓔珞，披帔帛，下繫裙。右手屈肘托淨瓶，淨瓶形狀與鳥形蓋是中國七世紀末至八世紀初流行的樣式。左手略向外側伸展垂握帛端，跣足而立，身軀體態具有「S」形三屈式的展現，與帔帛、寶繒構成律動的曲線，造型委婉柔麗。
觀音安然的神情和動態的曲線相互映襯，體現出唐代（618～907）流行的「人物豐膿，肌勝於骨」的藝術特點，為盛唐（712～756）金銅菩薩造像的傑作。
