生卒年不詳。唐代（618～907）書畫家。廣平（今安徽宿縣）人。官至衛尉少卿。擅正、行、草書，宗王羲之，頗受玄宗（712～756在位）讚賞。葉熾《語石》評其行書云：「風骨凝重，精光閃含，是善學褚（遂良）者。」
《攝山棲霞寺明徵君之碑》，立於江蘇南京棲霞寺山門外，高274公分，寬121公分，厚36公分，為上元三年（676）高宗表彰明徵君捨宅建寺所撰。高正臣以行書繕寫全文，筆法俊逸，剛柔有致，計三十三行，每行七十四字，王知敬篆「明徵君碑」額。碑陰「棲霞」二大字，據傳為唐高宗（649～683在位）親筆，雄渾遒勁，為江南古碑之一，是現存唐碑罕見珍品。
