釋妙應
雕塑
俗姓童，人稱童和尚。生卒年不詳。南宋（1127～1279）僧、雕塑家。工石雕。據清乾隆年間修訂的《蘇州府志》記載，南宋淳熙年間（1174～1189）居蘇州（今江蘇蘇州）龍興寺，仿雕廬山王瀚須菩提造像碑，碑陰刻天台山五百羅漢像，刀法奇古。後又於蘇州虎丘雕造觀音菩薩像，生動自然。
