Leifeng Pagoda: Tile Caps with Lotus Design

浙江省杭州市雷峰塔出土。此塔出土近一百二十件瓦當中，蓮花紋瓦當為數最多。陶質，直徑14.6～16公分，厚1.6～2.4公分。當面正中為蓮蓬，上塑凸起的蓮子，五至九顆不等，中間一顆最大，其餘環繞四周，部分蓮子已簡化成花蕊狀圖案。
蓮房的外圈是向四周展開的蓮瓣，瓣數多寡不一，較常見的為八瓣，多則十六瓣。花瓣多呈雙層，在相鄰的兩瓣之間又伸出疊壓在下層的瓣尖，亦有少數單層瓣。蓮瓣或肥或瘦，均作高浮雕。眾多的蓮花瓦當，儘管均為同一題材，但因蓮花大小、肥瘦、形態各異，裝飾趣味濃郁，格調統一而不雷同，是雷峰塔瓦當之特點。
