Fahua Temple: Stele

法華寺碑 李邕

全稱《秦望山法華寺碑》。立碑於會稽（今浙江紹興）秦望山法華寺。李邕撰文并書。因原碑久佚，僅清代（1644～1911）何紹基舊藏宋（960～1279）拓孤本傳世，表彰東晉（317～420）曇翼法師因誦《妙法蓮華經》感得普賢菩薩示現，始於秦望山西北創建法華寺之事蹟。
此碑筆畫渾厚，使轉婉暢，內含骨力；結體甚為欹側，左低右高，又呈開張之勢，奇趣橫生；雖與其另一書跡《麓山寺碑》極為相似，但缺乏嚴峻風骨的特色，較為溫潤。李邕主張學書不能一味摹擬，要有所創新，曾說：「學我者死，似我者俗。」
李邕字泰和。唐代（618～907）書法家。廣陵江都（今江蘇揚州）人。工文善書，尤擅真、行、草體，筆畫雄勁，書風豪挺，唐代李陽冰謂之「書中仙手」。
