The figure sits cross-legged on a many-petaled lotus throne that rests on a reversed bloom perched on an octagonal base. The figure’s hair is arranged in a high topknot and secured by a three-leaf crown fronted with a large lotus ornament. There is an urna in the middle of the forehead and the eyes are closed. A necklace with pendant ornaments hangs down the chest and a stole falls from the shoulders to cross the lap. The Bodhisattva holds a sutra scroll in the left hand while the other hand holds the stole. The mandorla that once surrounded the figure is missing. An inscription on the pedestal dates the work to 1008.
