CHINA; Eastern Wei dynasty

According to Anyang County Gazetteer, an inscription outside Daliu Cave read, “Homage to Suryaprabha Buddha Created by Zhang Xiu,” indicating that Zhang was the sculptor of the stone statues within. Daliu Cave was at the site of the Lingquan Temple Caves, located at the foothill of Lanfengshan, east of Lingquan Temple in Anyang, Henan. The inscriptions and the Suryaprabha Buddha sculpture no longer exist.
