木漆彩繪廚子

日本十二世紀晚期佛教工藝傑作，屬上流顯貴或密教儀軌之用。原應為一對，此為其一。廚子乃供奉佛像或經卷的佛龕，供信徒禮拜。此作原奉納數以百計的手抄經卷。
廚子為木質，表面黏貼麻布，施以黑漆彩繪。整體分為台座、廚身和寶蓋三部分。台座八邊形，作多層仰覆蓮式。廚身設對開二門扉，內壁兩側書有種子梵字，上邊緣垂掛金屬鍊飾，門扉內面各彩繪數尊身穿盔甲、持法器的護法神像；框緣均以漆金、碎金、黑墨及礦物顏料等處理。黑色寶蓋呈八角攢尖頂，頂上飾寶珠，其下以蓮座承托，邊緣塗金。
