地藏菩薩像

地藏菩薩是日本最受歡迎的菩薩信仰之一，以悲願力救度一切眾生，尤其是對地獄中的罪苦眾生特別悲憫，而發「地獄不空，誓不成佛」廣大誓願。此外，在日本，地藏菩薩也是旅行者和孩童的保護者。
圖中菩薩外現沙門相，左手托寶珠，右手執錫杖，右足盤屈，左腳垂踏蓮花，姿態優雅，構圖勻稱平穩，此造型為當時廣為流傳的形象。菩薩內著僧祇支，外穿袈裟，衣服施以細膩的泥金紋樣，線描細勁流暢。以暗色為背景，用工筆描金的手法，色線遒勁，工細而文雅，表現菩薩的莊嚴妙好。為十三世紀之作品。
