菩薩像頭戴髮箍，臉形豐腴，大耳長垂，額前髮際、雙眉、髭及鬍鬚呈卷曲狀，雙眼微閉，嘴角含笑，神情寧靜沉著，如入甚深禪定喜悅中。項圈樣式與頭箍相似，衣緣紋樣細緻，袒胸，頸、胸上陰刻線紋表現筋腱及肋骨，突顯削瘦的身形。
該像雙手持經卷，左手撐托底，右手拈經卷上端。盤左腿，右腿屈起，腳踏於台座上。原造像通體鎏金敷彩，現僅殘存唇上的朱色顏料及髮上的青色顏料等。
菩薩頭上簡化的束髮冠是明代（1368～1644）創新的式樣，以觀音、文殊像最常見；青色是佛和菩薩的髮色，應非羅漢；按其手持經卷，或為文殊菩薩。
