Bharhut: Paying Respect to a Stupa

印度中央邦阿拉哈巴德瑟德納縣巴爾胡特遺址出土
印度中央邦阿拉哈巴德瑟德納縣（Satna, Allahabad, Madhya Pradesh）巴爾胡特遺址（Bharhut）出土。原為佛塔圓形石垣上的裝飾浮雕。圖中央大塔的傘蓋上懸掛著花環，覆鉢形塔身上亦纏繞多重花環，表示天界諸神持花環來供佛。塔基邊緣刻一圈右掌印，象徵許多信眾禮拜佛塔。
大塔兩側有男女信眾數人，有的於塔前俯身跪拜，有的於塔側站立合掌，或繞塔禮拜。畫面左上方有一飛天，手持花盤作散花狀；右上方為人頭鳥身的迦陵頻伽，手持花環，從天上散花供塔。該造像提供了佛教早期在印度巽伽王朝（約187〜75 BCE）的宗教與藝術造像的參考資料。
