香爐由一塊全石雕鑿而成，外觀呈長方槽斗座形，最高約50公分，最寬約60公分。無蓋，斗座上寬下狹，口沿處最寬為47公分。長一方的外緣刻有銘文，右曰「同治玖年（1870）庚午葭月吉旦」；中曰「清水巖」；左曰「惠邑峰上弟子王談經叩」。從銘文推測，此爐原可能是供奉於清水祖師的佛寺，出資捐獻者為泉州惠安人。
香爐斗座腹部前後、兩側為梯形平面，以高浮雕的龍形紋為主體紋飾，刻龍游於波濤起伏的水浪中，十分生動華麗。左右兩側則插入兩根外張如意形雙耳，使整個香爐有如朝冠式。香爐底部基座為長方形，四周為裙帶圍繞，刻紋猷勁有力。
