新疆維吾爾自治區巴音郭楞蒙古自治州焉耆回族自治縣七個星佛教遺址出土，由斯坦因攜至英國。
此菩薩頭像僅存頸項及小部分的右肩，面貌渾厚敦盈，充滿張力。綰低平髮髻，卷髮披肩，雙頤及下頦尤為豐圓，額滿而弧順，鼻挺拔秀巧，唇豐嘴小而含笑。
鼻梁、鼻翼、眉、眼皮及唇上等展現棱角分明，與臉頰的圓渾形成鮮明對比又不失和諧。面部中心為草蕊，再敷以泥土，外覆模製而成。由於曾遭火災，因火烤而更堅硬，但色彩已失。
