印尼中爪哇省（Central Java）出土。此作品刻劃佛陀於鹿野苑初轉法輪的題材。佛螺髮肉髻，面龐豐腴，雙眸微微下視，內鑲嵌金屬。頭後有同心圓形頭光，外緣火焰紋飾幾已毀損殆盡；頭光頂端凸出，原設有華蓋，現已佚。
佛身著輕薄貼體袒右袈裟，僅於胸前、袖口和下襬邊緣以簡約的線條表現。下裳覆於台座，在兩腳之間懸垂呈波浪形。雙手當胸結說法印，兩腿自然垂下，呈倚坐姿，足踏蓮葉，兩側各有一獅騎於象背。台座後立一背屏，如椅背，背側兩旁裝飾布局對稱分明，由上而下依序為瑞獸、力士、大象和四瓣花朵。
台座樣式特殊，作「亞」字形，正面鑄法輪及雙鹿；後方兩側刻蹲獅。佛像的樸素無華與座椅的繁複裝飾形成鮮明對比。印度波羅王朝（Pala，約8～12世紀）同類造像的台座多數已損毀，諸如此作品之精美細膩者已不多見。
