擦擦是一種小型泥塑，以泥土為主要材質，有時加入麥類、香灰、膠質或高僧骨灰等，以凹形模具壓製成型，脫模而成。
文殊菩薩戴三葉形寶冠，面貌豐圓，後有邊飾聯珠紋的圓形頭光及罕見的框式椅背。袒上身，飾瓔珞、臂釧，披聖線。屈右手，豎舉象徵智慧的寶劍。左肘搭於膝上，自然垂下。屈右腿，豎左膝，坐於束腰仰覆蓮座上。
此菩薩頭飾為印度波羅王朝（Pala，約8～12世紀）早期具有斷代意義的三葉形寶冠，推測應為波羅王朝作品遺留在衛藏地區佛塔內，亦為該區十一至十二世紀罕見的造像形式。
