該像通體鎏金。螺髮高肉髻，頤圓頰豐，眉似彎月，雙目微啟，鼻翼豐厚，大耳貼面。著圓領通肩寬袖袈裟，寬大的衣袖褶紋繁密，右手施無畏印，左手結與願印，跣足而立。
袈裟浮雕有佛、菩薩、力士、供養人、飛天、宮殿、動物及蓮蕾等繁複圖像，據圖像內容應為人中像。據《高僧傳》、《金石萃編》、《陶齋藏石記》等記載分析，「人中像」可能是盧舍那佛法界人中像的簡稱，旨在表達《大方廣佛華嚴經》所說的「佛身充滿諸法界，普現一切眾生前」等思想。
