觀音結跏趺坐，姿態端莊肅穆。面相圓潤飽滿，額間白毫凸出，神情沉靜。頭戴高聳寶冠，中有小化佛，髮髻刻劃細緻。耳垂與胸間瓔珞皆以紅色珠寶裝飾，更顯高貴。右手作印舉於胸前，左手置於右腳掌上。袒上身，披帔帛，斜披絡腋，下著高腰長裙，衣紋處理寫實，隨形體變化自然流暢，形象豐滿。
在宋（960～1279）、遼（907～1125）、金（1115～1234）出現大量鐵、木、陶瓷等材質的佛教造像，使宋代的大型木雕佛造像具有鮮明的時代特徵。此作品整體感強，雕刻技法圓潤細膩，比例準確，是木雕造像中水平較高的作品。
