旃檀佛立像

旃檀佛像為佛教最早的佛陀造像。中國旃檀佛像有兩個系統，一為唐代（618～907）河南洛陽地區流行的倚坐像，身著表面光滑的袒右袈裟；一為宋代（960～1279）以後流行的立像，著密集「U」形衣紋袈裟。此像造型由來據傳是佛弟子為思念釋迦牟尼佛上忉利天為母說法時不在人間，為永留佛陀影像，便至忉利天請求為佛畫像。出於對佛陀的恭敬，便請佛陀立於水邊，由畫師依照水中之影繪形，因此衣紋呈水波狀。
該佛像束髮高肉髻，髮紋刻劃細密，雙眉細長，目光平視，鼻梁高挺，微啟的嘴唇小而薄，大耳貼面。著貼體通肩高領寬袖袈裟，身軀隱現於細密繁縟的「U」形衣紋下，右手施無畏印，左手結與願印，立於束腰蓮台上，為旃檀佛像標準造型。
