Qing Imperial Palace: Statuette of Arhat

清宮舊藏。圓雕，以竹根雕成。面相方圓，寬額豐顙，大耳及肩，濃眉深目，廣開笑口。外披大衣，袒肩，左衣襟盡褪於手腕處，覆沒左手。右手握數珠一串，盤膝曲肱坐於台座上。身體微微前探，鬃毛蓬卷的幼獅立於其左腿，張牙舞爪、昂首翹尾，作嬉戲狀。
台座和松樹由楠竹筒底節雕造而成。台座雲石疊錯，石間點綴花草，一株蒼松依石而出，枝葉繁茂，松針團疊如傘蓋。整組作品雕刻細膩，色調沉靜古雅，立獅為作品平添動感和鮮活的氣息，靜中有動，佳趣天成。
明代（1368～1644）宮廷延攬著名的竹木雕刻匠師入宮，傳世大量的精美作品，此作即為該時期工藝佳作。
