青金石描金七佛螺  

中國

清代(1644~1911)宮廷十八世紀作品,原存放於紫禁城養心殿。螺之音聲悠遠而洪亮,喻佛說法儀節隆盛,廣被大眾,且能降魔。《妙法蓮華經》卷一〈序品〉載:「今佛世尊,欲說大法,雨大法雨,吹大法螺,擊大法鼓,演大法義。」《佛說無量壽經》云:「扣法鼓,吹法螺。」比喻佛以法音覺諸世間。
 此作以青金石雕刻出七層左旋螺,高17.2公分,寬9.7公分。平口,口沿四周包銅鍍金。表面浮雕並描金七佛,飾聯珠紋、蓮瓣紋等圖案。中段的七尊坐佛,造型相似,均有肉髻,寬額豐頤,帶有笑意。後有圓形頭光及橢圓形身光,上方懸垂珠鍊。身著袒右袈裟,右覆偏衫,內著僧祇支,結跏趺坐於仰覆蓮座上。諸佛唯印相各異,右手或作禪定印,或作與願印,或施無畏印等;左手各有持物。
